Up-coming Production And Release Of Dead Mountain
Cannes, France May 17, 2012 – To be filmed in the Winter of 2013, Dead Mountain will chart the doomed trek of nine ski hikers in 1959 out onto an isolated region of the Russian Ural Mountains. Led by their brazen leader Igor Dyatlov, the group encounters rough weather, leaving Igor with no choice but to deviate and lead the group up a shorter trail onto a mountain rumoured by local Indian legend to be cursed.
As group members start dying off, the corpses bear inexplicable, horrific injuries. The remaining hikers quickly believe they have fallen victim to the mountain’s curse. Igor, in accordance with the Soviet doctrine, does all he can to disprove evil’s existence and search for a logical explanation – ignoring his friend’s pleas to leave. As the body count rises, and the injuries become more bizarre, Igor’s desire to disprove the curse quickly turns into a futile obsession. As he slowly descends into madness, the remaining hiker’s fears push them to the limit, and eventually… to their graves. This film is a testament to the Dyatlov Pass incident, which has remained one of Russia’s most intriguing unsolved mysteries for over half a century. After much investigation Soviet officials determined only that “a compelling unknown force” had caused the deaths. This is the final film in a group of films presented as part of a joint venture between Sarke Studio and Imedi Films. The corporations are a match made in heaven; by joining the financial strength of Imedi Films and the production experience of Sarke Studio, they have their goals set on making high quality films, for US and International markets. All films born from the venture will cast US talent and will be produced in Georgia, allowing for high production value. Cloud 21 PR Company Contact Information |
